VIN Inventory 10.0

VIN Inventory is a streamlined tool designed for quick lookup and management of vehicle identification numbers (VINs), enabling users to save detailed information and photos of vehicles. Users can scan a VIN barcode in just a few seconds using the autofocus camera on iPhone 4S or newer models, or alternatively, manually enter the VIN via keyboard.

Intended primarily for automotive professionals, including dealership managers and sales personnel, as well as car enthusiasts, the app facilitates organized record-keeping of vehicle details accompanied by images. The application does not impose subscriptions, in-app purchase requirements, or decoding fees for accessing its full functionality.

VIN Inventory efficiently authenticates and decodes VIN data, presenting comprehensive vehicle details such as manufacturing year, make, model, engine specifications, equipment options, and additional accessories. Users can annotate each entry with stock or tag numbers, color, odometer readings, pricing information, and custom notes. Up to three photographs can be added either directly from the iPhone camera or from the Camera Roll. Equipment details are editable at any time.

Users can choose to either save vehicles to their inventory list or delete entries following a brief review. Saved data remains accessible for editing or removal, with photo updates supported as needed. The Vehicle List interface displays all stored vehicles in a scrollable table format, complete with thumbnail images. It allows exporting the entire vehicle list via email as a text file. Selecting a specific vehicle opens a detailed view displaying specifications, equipment details, and photos; tapping on photos provides an enlarged view. Additionally, users can email individual vehicle information along with up to three images.

The app supports vehicles manufactured after 1981 with 17-digit VINs. Its database coverage primarily encompasses North American vehicles and omits data on exotic or less common models outside typical dealership inventories.

VIN Inventory is part of AutoPlus’s suite of vehicle inventory management tools, which include features such as data upload/download, import/export capabilities, support for multiple images per vehicle, label printing, and more powerful functionalities.
